Understanding the Authentication Methods

Method 1: Connecting Your Wallet (Web3)

This method utilizes your existing cryptocurrency wallet to authenticate.

  • Authentication: Your wallet acts as your digital identity. You are asked to cryptographically sign a message within your wallet to prove ownership of the address.

  • Security: This process leverages the security of your wallet and private keys without requiring you to share sensitive information like an email address or traditional password.

  • Decentralization: This aligns with Web3 principles where your identity is tied to your wallet address.

Method 2 & 3: Email and Google Sign-in

These are standard authentication methods familiar from Web2 applications.

  • Access: You can log in using a registered email and password combination, or use your existing Google account credentials.

  • Onboarding: These options simplify access for users who may not have a wallet set up or prefer a conventional login method.

By adding Email and Google sign-in options alongside the original "Connect a Wallet" method, users now gain flexible access methods.
